Author and Illustrator Current Location: New York, NY Honorarium: Schools: $1100 a day for visits within the NYC metro area that can be reached by public transportation (includes all expenses) Schools: $1100 a day plus expenses for visits requiring car rentals, overnight stays or flights. Conferences: $1,200 per day plus expenses Program Description: Materials required: study easel and big pad of drawing paper Tim's main focus in school presentations is taking the students through the process of how a book is created, with a special emphasis on relating that process to students' own work. Presentation elements - depending on venue and audience size - can include reading his books, showing slides, and sharing original art and publication production materials. It always includes drawing, answering questions and a lot of high-energy conversation. In addition to signing books the day of the visit, Tim usually makes a set of autographed bookmarks for the whole school. After the visit, he is happy to answer letters from students as well as sign and mail bookplates for any books that were ordered or delivered late.
