ABOUT "DINO" DON LESSEM, THE EXHIBIT CREATOR
"Dino" Don Lessem is the leading presenter of dinosaur science. Author of more than twenty books, advisor to Jurassic Park and Disney Dinosaur films, host and author of NOVA and Discovery Channel films, Mr. Lessem has spent the last 15 years traveling the world in search of dinosaurs, from Mongolia to Arctic Alaska.
Mr. Lessem has supervised the excavation and reconstruction of the world's largest meat-eating dinosaur, Giganotosaurus, and the largest of all dinosaurs, Argentinosaurus. A former animal behaviorist who began his dinosaur studies as a Knight Journalism Fellow at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Mr. Lessem started his dinosaur research as a participant in the 1988 China-Canada Expedition to Inner Mongolia.
Mr. Lessem is the creator and chief funder of the two largest charities in the world for dinosaur research, The Dinosaur Society and more recently, the Jurassic Foundation. "Dino" Don is best known as dinosaur columnist for Highlights Magazine, the most popular children's magazine in the world.
Mr. Lessem conceived and created this dinosaur exhibition through his company, Dinodon, Inc. Mr. Lessem's other exhibitions include Discovering Dinosaurs, and the most popular traveling exhibit in natural history, The Dinosaurs of Jurassic Park, which has toured 30 North American cities in three editions, with attendance surpassing 3,000,000, and providing nearly $2,000,000 for dinosaur research.
