How many books should I order for my visit?

It is in your best interest to either take pre-sale orders (and just order a little extra) or order conservatively. We are always available to assist you in title selection and book quantities. We charge standard UPS shipping rates.

What is a pre-sale?

If your visit is at a school or library:
We suggest sending students home with an order form listing the available titles with prices. The returned forms will then give you an idea of what titles and quantities to order.

We advise limiting the order form to 5-10 titles per author even if the author has written more titles. It's easier to manage a smaller group of titles.

If your visit is at a conference:
We recommend getting in touch with the previous conference chair. They will have an autographing history of your organization and can help you make an educated guess.

When should I order the books?

We strongly recommend ordering books 6 weeks in advance to ensure adequate shipping time and to make sure that you receive the proper books.

  • 20% off list price, fully returnable within 30 days.

**New Jersey Book orders only:

  • If you are ordering from New Jersey please send a copy of your tax exempt form--otherwise you will be charged sales tax.

What happens to books I don't sell?

Ordering from visitingauthors.com is risk-free, because we will accept returns on any leftover unsold books, and credit them to your invoice. Books must be returned in saleable condition.

You are responsible for the cost of return shipping costs. Please use either Fedex or UPS for your returns, as they can be easily tracked.

  1. A copy of the invoice
  2. A letter explaining how many copies of each title you sold, and how many of each you are returning taking into account your discount and a calculation of the balance you owe.
